Target Blu-Eye

Target Blu Eye is a unique and worldwide patented traffic safety system that warns you in advance of approaching emergency service vehicles. Even if such a vehicle is not using its siren and flashing lights, with Target Blu Eye you will be warned by means of an acoustic and visual alert. The signal strength meter on the control display allows you to see at first glance whether an emergency vehicle is approaching you or moving away from you.

Of course, the primary aim, as always, is road safety, giving you sufficient time to move out of the way, enabling the emergency services to pass quickly and safely. If this also means that you are able to adjust your speed in order to comply with the prevailing speed limit, then so much the better!

Vehicle theft

There has been considerable press coverage of late about the increasing number of thefts of high value motorcars, with certain makes and models being especially at risk. In fact, it has got to the stage were some insurers are refusing to cover specific models in the London area unless they are securely parked off the road. Incredibly, the equipment required to effect these thefts is freely available on the internet, albeit at a price. Virtually all cars that open automatically when the drivers key is recognised are at risk.

One product effectively clones the owners own key, without the thieves even needing access to the key. They only need to be within a few metres of it, with their accomplice close to the target vehicle. They are also using the vehicles OBD port (onboard diagnostic port) in order to bypass the vehicles security systems. If you don’t believe us, take a look at YouTube for examples of how quick and easy such thefts are.

Whereas the totally theft proof motorcar is probably a pipe dream, the important thing is to make it as difficult as possible for the thieves to quickly access your car and drive it away. Imagine a thief who has purchased all the expensive equipment, targeted your car, gained access to it, only to be faced with a car that won’t start. His main aim is to get away as quickly as possible without attracting unwanted attention. Delay is his worst enemy. Does he have the time to search out what is preventing the car from starting, especially is this involves opening the bonnet, or stripping down the dashboard? The answer is no. He’s rather move on to another vehicle that presents an easier opportunity.

With that in mind, the ideal solution is to install a separate, covert, immobilisation system that can only be disarmed via an ADR (Automatic Driver Recognition) card, a simply PIN entry code, or transponder. Something that is totally separate from the vehicles own system that is all too easily disarmed if your key has been “cloned”. We have a few products available from leading aftermarket manufacturers such as Cobra and Autowatch that will do just this. They are comparatively inexpensive, especially compared with the costs involved in dealing with a stolen motorcar and everyone who parks their car on the street, particularly in London, should have one.
